Prof. Ren gave a plenary lecture "The Interplay between Plasmonics and Electrochemistry" at the 76th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry
Prof. Bin Ren gave a one-hour plenary lecture on 9 Sept. 2025, on the 76th Annual Meeting of International Society of Electrochemistry, held in Mainz, Germany. The title of the leture is The Interplay between Plasmonics and Electrochemsitry. He gave a journey of our group in developing tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS) into a power nanoscale characterization tool for electrochemistry, making use the plamonic effect of the TERS tip. EC-TERS offers unique opportunity to study electrochemical system with several nanometer spatial reoslution but containing molecular fingerprint information, which is a unqiue tool to study the structure and function relationship. He also demostrate how the plasmon excitation may affect the TERS measurement and how this effect may be employed to realize the chemical reaction not achievable by other means.
